Referees support organ donation

NRL referees prefer to avoid the spotlight but in Round 16 of the Telstra Premiership they want everyone to notice their support of Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation.
This round, all NRL and Toyota Cup referees will wear rainbow shoelaces to support Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation, which promotes organ and tissue donation.
Zaidee Turner died of a cerebral aneurism aged just seven but became of the youngest ever Australians to donate her organs and tissue so that others could have a chance at life.
“This is one of those special occasions when we want our referees to be noticed on the field,” NRL Referees boss Robert Finch said.
“Organ donation can help save lives and that is a cause we are proud to support.”
