Michael Spence is anything but a household name but the passionate Blues fan who dreams of playing for the Broncos in the NRL is already part of a Rugby League revolution and he is doing it all behind enemy lines.
The Toyota Cup is a pioneering concept in Australian sport and mandates that three days of the working week are left vacant so that players can pursue alternate careers.
Two careers however are not the only things the former Coffs Harbor Comet’s junior is juggling.
As a proud New South Welshman now playing for the Broncos U20s side, Spence is living deep in enemy territory, Queensland territory – and doesn’t he love it!
