Shane Warne Retires!

The Age reports that the greatest ever Test wicket taker will announce his retirement tomorrow, effective after the Sydney Test.

Shane Warne, 37, will almost certainly take his 700th wicket at his home ground during the Boxing Day Test and he sees this as a fitting way to bow out of the game.
After retiring Warne is expected to take up a commentary position with channel 9.

Glenn McGrath, 36, is also tipped to announce his retirement after the Sydney Test, so what will Australia do without the Warne-McGrath combination?

the couch just will not be the same without that leather that stayed in the air for long periods, moved to the right of the screen and then landed, moving with forward motion at sharp angles past tentative pieces of willow and into perpendicular pillars.

Sports News

Yes the great man will be surely missed. When Steve Waugh retired it was like "who will we turn to when we're in trouble with the bat?". Then along came Hussey, and Clarke and Ponting especially have improved.
I hope somebody else comes along who can bowl us out of trouble.
