Freo were the standout performers of the weekend. Defeating a team in the top 8 by such a large margin was very impressive. They dominated all over the ground and while the Saints put up a dismal showing, hats off to the Dockers for extending their winning streak, my tip is they’ll be top 4 without a shadow of a doubt. Will give their arch enemies a run for their money in the derby next week. Also gets the award for sign of the week: “WE HATE WEST COAST”.
Brisbane were absolutely dreadful. They are not even a shadow of what they used to be. All over the ground they were fumbling, couldn’t contain the Eagles midfield and this hindered their ability to shut down the improving West Coast forward line. West Coast’s defence was too good for the Lions’ forward line which showed on the scoreboard.
Adelaide remained in the top 4 this week because they only went down by just 7 points. If they continue on in the fashion that they are playing however they could drop out very easily. I am eagerly awaiting the return of Burton, that guy is unreal.
Sydney very easily qualified for disappointment status. Geelong hadn’t won a game at Skilled in almost 1000 visits and with Sydney in seemingly hot form, they failed to produce much worth mentioning. Unfortunately for Geelong however, it’s unlikely they’ll make the 8. They still have the old ‘mathematical chance’, but there is also a ‘mathematical chance’ I could sleep with Kylie Minogue.
