Melbourne's AFL season is still alive after it staged a courageous comeback to down St Kilda 13.12 (90) to 10.12 (72) in an elimination final at the MCG last night.
The Demons trailed by as much as 27 points in the second quarter and were still 15 points down ten minutes into the final term. But Melbourne stormed home with the last five goals to claim victory.
The Demons will next play the loser of today's qualifying final between Adelaide and Fremantle at AAMI Stadium.
Tonight, Sydney and West Coast play a qualifying final in Perth with the loser to meet the winner of Sunday's eliminator between Collingwood and the Bulldogs.
The qualifying final winners get a week off and host a preliminary final.
